Sometimes, a natural gas main line is not found near a property, but could be available several blocks or just a few houses away. If you have a serious interest in getting a natural gas line installed at your home or business, Roanoke Gas Company will evaluate extending a natural gas main if proven to be economically beneficial to the company and the community.
Upon request, Roanoke Gas will complete an economic evaluation of the potential project. During that evaluation, a natural gas survey will be taken to determine how many possible customers are considering having natural gas installed to their address. Once that survey is complete, Roanoke Gas Company will determine if the project has enough demand to continue with the project. The normal time frame usually takes several weeks depending on our work load at the time of the request.
